Mapping the environmental impacts from land subsidence hazard in Pekalongan City and its correlation with the subsurface condition

Abstract Land subsidence in Pekalongan city has affected almost the entire municipality for at least ten years. occurred all areas 2-12 cm/year rates. The direct and indirect environmental impacts of land are enormous. We aim to map evaluate severity with subsurface condition area. employed site investigation using resistivity CPTu soundings representative sites reveal soils survey impacts. Resistivity measurements a Schlumberger array were carried out 24 sites, along 12 up 30 m deep. Results show that depth consists alluvial sediment clay, silt, organic intercalated lenses sand. southern part is dominated by sandy higher stiffness cone resistance 1-2 MPa friction ratio 50-200 kPa. northern low tip <0.5- 1 MPa, <0.25-100 These values indicate more compact have bearing capacity than soft, fine-grained visible include flood inundation, settlement buildings roads, cracks houses infrastructure. worsens from South North city.
